The project
Balcony deck renewal,
Bristol
CIG Construction renewed the balconies and walkways of an occupied residential block in Bristol for a housing provider. Failed decking was stripped out and the decks re-waterproofed to the manufacturer’s specification, then paved on pedestals.
Balustrades were removed, treated and powder coated before refitting, parapet upstands rebuilt, and the lightning protection reinstated and certified. Residents’ belongings were cleared and returned around each balcony.

In the detail
Working above occupied homes.
Every balcony sits outside someone’s front door, so the work was sequenced bay by bay behind segregated scaffold, with residents kept informed and access maintained throughout.
